No Strings Attached

In a world of wretched romantic comedies, this somehow manages to end up not being one.

While it does retain the predictability of a traditional romcom, it also is able to have enough humor to keep the dragged-along movie date from feeling resentful for weeks afterward.

The Mechanic

Watchable (-ish)(sorta), but witless & overwrought.

Are we really supposed to root for a main character who we can see from the beginning of the film is flat-out stupid--and why would Jason Statham want to play said stupid guy?

The Green Hornet

I really liked it; I think most superhero movies would be better if they'd display this kind of wit.

If there's anything I'd add for future chapters, it would be restraint.

Blue Valentine

The sweet & funny bits are great, but unfortunately in the minority here.

I don't care to watch dysfunction & mental illness-- and I think that those who DO, would prefer to see some hatcheting & bloodshed in the mix.

Casino Jack

Kevin Spacey plays demon lobbyist Jack Abramoff (and plays him well) in this, the second Casino Jack movie of 2010.

I'm ready for a third & fourth film; I love seeing Abramoff & Tom DeLay getting their (way-too-light) karmic comeuppances.

Made in Dagenham

The taken-from-true-life story about a very serious situation is a little bit of history, sure to educate, but also a very fun ride

I only wish that these movies in British would come with subtitles.
