I'd never seen any of the Terminator films before this re-release a couple of months back; I honestly don't think I was ready.

My now-mature ears were actually able to make out everything Arnold said.

The Big Sick

So much to like here, so many great characters and relationships--in fact, the most unlikable person in the whole film is the title character: Big Sick, herself.

Such an unsympathetic, self-centered spewer of misery is Big Sick--in all stages of health--that we must finally realize our protagonist is a big dope for continuing to see her as a life's goal rather than a fate to avoid.

Girls Trip

So foul, I had to look away from the screen at one point.

So wall-to-wall hilarious, I had to peek to make sure I wasn't going to miss anything.

The Wedding Plan

It’s billed as a comedy, but while it’s certainly interesting enough, I don’t see what’s comedic about it (the main character is clearly unhinged—in a tragic way-- and every other character seems to agree).

Is the comedy supposed to come from the fact that she dresses just like Dustin Hoffman in “Tootsie?”

Sardaar Ji 2

I wish the movie were as fun as all of its posters make it look, but posters lie all the time.

I did like his secret good & evil selves, exactly the kind of thing I remember from old Donald Duck cartoons.

24

I don't remember ever seeing a time travel movie where the travelers arrive in the past at the age they were way back then.

I guess I'll never be seeing dinosaurs in person.

10 Cloverfield Lane

What a film--a lot of really horrific things take place over the course of this story.

The most appalling of all is a sandwich made of marshmallow fluff & peanut butter.

Wazir

I was going to call this movie's genre "revenge porn," but I am told by the Wiki page that what I should say is "crime thriller."

As such, there are many of the expected stunts and FX, but the one special effect that had me absolutely staring the whole time was Amitabh Bachchan's hairline.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I really enjoyed the new Star Wars movie a lot, but I hear George Lucas hated it, and do you know what I have to say to him?

"GOOD, GEORGE--NOW YOU KNOW HOW THAT FEELS!"

Spectre

Good movie, but I miss Judi Dench.

She was sooo good, and the new M--Ralph "Rafe" "Ralphie" Fiennes--is hard to buy as a hero; he still looks exactly like the Dark Lord from the Harry Potter movies.

Bridge of Spies

This movie could have lost an hour in its running time, and still have been no more or less interesting.

As it was, the film is interesting--more or less.

Pawn Sacrifice

The movie experience was like watching people playing chess--heavily-made-up people playing chess.

Tobey Maguire was fine, I guess (in a very Tobey Maguirey kinda way), but who I really would have loved seeing tackle this role: Andrew Garfield.

The Intern

What we have here, essentially, is two pretty big stars playing in a really bland made-for-television movie.

One you may actually enjoy, after about 40 minutes is cut away for commercials, and providing you fall asleep well before the ending.

Fantastic Four

Okay, I couldn't NOT go see it, and I'm sure my lowered expectations from the wretched reviews helped, but -- I liked it.

Ah, c'mon: it is CERTAINLY better than the previous versions (just admit it)!

Bāhubali: The Beginning

Wait: I just sat through this fourteen-hour movie (give or take several hours)--no intermission--to learn that there is absolutely no resolution to the plot until "Baahubali: The Conclusion" comes out next year, by which time I will remember none of this?

Okay, so maybe the subtitle "the Beginning" should have given me the hint...

Ant-Man

I knew little about Ant-Man going in, but this might be my second-favorite Marvel Studios movie.

Which does not necessarily mean I would want to sit through it a second time.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1

I stayed to the very, very end of the credits!

I was sure Samuel L. Jackson would show up to recruit Katniss, but no such luck.
