Kingsman: The Secret Service

Here it is, the movie that asks, "can the later Roger Moore James Bond films be out-overdone?"; the answer, as it turns out, is "oh, hell, yes"--but why, I ask, would one actually WANT to?

I started out mildly amused, but at some point grew to hate the entire thing.

The Avengers

I found myself waiting for the wit, & waiting for the wit, and waiting--and then there was a little wit--and then I sat waiting for more, and waiting for more, and waiting; it was like this for what felt like three hours.

The whole thing was heart-pounding, but not at all exciting--but the good news is I think that the director said he intends to turn the sequel into a good movie with emotion & character development.

Captain America: The First Avenger

Oddly, a lot of Star Wars references here--Endor, anyone?

I'll say this: as far as superhero movies starring Chris What-his-face go, I sure prefer this to the ones where we are supposed to take Jessica Elbow seriously.

African Cats

DisneyNature's annual Earth Day release, this is the classic "nature show," in that the viewers find themselves rooting for either the hunter or the hunted.

As I do during many of thes movies, I constantly found myself wondering, "how'd they get that footage?"

The Other Guys

The film that deftly juggles being funnier than could have been expected, sporadically funny, and not all that funny at all.

SamJack & The Rock have too little screentime, Marky Mark is ill-suited in his role, and Doofus is just a drag.
