Raiders of the Lost Ark

The bad news regarding this re-release is that it would seem they did nothing to clean up the old print.

The good news is how much it reminded me of the Disneyland ride.

The Tempest

This film completely harkens back to the big-budget special-effects spectacles of the 1960s-- yes, it is THAT wretched.

I love Julie Taymor's prior work, but I think this time she's had a bad reaction to her meds.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

The first minute or two were enough to make me want to walk out, and the ending wasn't that much better-- but the middle was midly entertaining, certainly no worse than I'd been expecting for this movie.

I did like the nod to Mickey (two nods, if you stay to the end of the credits).

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

You've heard about the wacky casting--that's all true & then some--but it's actually a pretty fun movie (not that I'd want to sit all the way through it a second time).

Think of it as an Indiana Jones movie with a younger, hotter cast.
