Mickey Virus

Eschews most of the singing & dancing that most people expect of Bollywood, in favor of the more-rarely seen kissing & sexy time.

It's a rough trade-off, but I'm ready to accept it.

The Oscar-Nominated Short Films 2012: Animation

I was eager to see whether there was a film more amazing and award-worthy than "Paperman."

There really wasn't.

Zero Dark Thirty

It's not a documentary, and it's certainly not art, so what is it?

I guess if I wanted any insight into what was being attempted here (if not torture porn), I should have sat through the whole thing--but that would have just been asking too much.

Les Misérables

Anne Hathaway deserves an Oscar for her performance--and she still would, even if her only scene in the whole film had been the one in which she sings The Susan Boyle Song.

For multiple viewings, though, I'm still gonna side with The Devil Wears Prada.

The Guilt Trip

Too benign & generic to hate, too benign & generic to really bother with at all.

The real point of the film that sticks with me is the "movie math" that casts an actress over 70 as a woman in her early 50s-- very distracting!

This is 40

They really have the start of something great here.

Now all we've got to do is do away with half of the family, and give the surviving cast members a story that's NOT a 2-hour steamroller of misery.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Barely watchable, due to its unending display of extreme beard fetishism.

On the positive side, it was mostly intelligible, and it really made me want to go back & watch the original version of the film.
