Wreck-It Ralph

What was so great about this movie was seeing all of the classic video game characters, and watching for semi-hidden references in the background--it's a shame the pedestrian story ended up getting in the way!

This feature really would have benefited from having its best bits pared down to an eight-minute, star-packed comedy.

The Dictator

Offensive only if you lack familiarity with Baron Cohen's work--or are a one-percenter--I think the greatest transgression here is the apparent lack of an experienced editor.

I was far more offended by the waste of this guy's talent in the snore-fest that was "Hugo."

Cedar Rapids

I love how a raunchy comedy, if produced as an independent & playing at small art house-type venues, can attract the loving attention of blue hairs.

The cinematography here may or may not be spectacular, but no one would ever know; the quality of the nudity offered is such that everyone was suddenly very interested in the emergency exit signs.

The Extra Man

It's billing itself as "a sexless new comedy," and while that's pretty much true, it somehow still manages to be oddly kinky.

It's also quietly very funny-- very much funnier than most so-called comedies.

Cyrus

If you've seen the trailer, you know all you need to know-- the ending is to be inferred, and then all that is left are the long dragging periods of nothingness.

The best thing I can say about "Cyrus" is that it is not at all as bad as I had expected.
